Adele is an entrepreneurial Mum of five kids and is doing what she loves doing best – helping people grow and NZ thrive!
In 2016, Adele started NZHELLO after having a daughter diagnosed with Cystic Fibroses, a life long genetic health condition. It was after this experience that she wanted to help people who were going through tough times. Adele approached local businesses who were more than happy to donate ‘pick me up’ product and experiences, where people were nominated to win. Adele continued this for a few years via social media while growing an amazing engagement and following. Businesses also benefited from the platform with various advertising.
In 2018, Adele and her family relocated to Jersey, in the Channel Islands. NZHELLO was put on hold while her family settled into a new country. In January 2020, Covid-19 hit. After some discussion, they decided to move back home. However, prior to this happening, Adele sustained terrible injuries breaking both wrists in an accident while she was visiting London. On returning home, and just days before the border closed, Adele and the family moved into lockdown and NZHELLO marketplace was re-established.
With Covid-19 having an unprecedented impact on so many lives, Adele wanted to support local businesses and help them thrive again. This is where NZHELLO marketplace was born. Additionally, it was an opportunity for businesses to create an online presence. After a soft launch in May, and during the first two weeks, NZHELLO had over 100 NZ businesses/sellers register. This completely exceeded expectations on all levels. Through a business network community Adele was offered an opportunity to get the platform over to a more user friendly site.
What Adele loves most about her job is discovering such incredible talent and finding businesses that she never knew existed. Referring to these businesses as ‘New Zealand’s best kept secrets’. NZHELLO’s goal now is to have 1000+ kiwi up-and-coming brands available to all Kiwis, and a platform to find businesses local to you.
Happy discovering and shop local NZ!
